Architect and Artist with a Surrealism Therapeutic Art Life.
Paintings and Drawings with contemporary and abstract art.
“Hello! My name is Gisela, and I am an artist based in Norwich, United Kingdom.
I
have developed my artwork over many years through studying as well as
the sheer enjoyment of it. At a very young age, I came across books and
many artists with their vibrant, colourful, magnificent paintings all of
which immediately connected me with the art of painting. I also vowed
to escape the dismal, cheerless, textbook standard system at the
earliest opportunity if I were to have a future in art.
However,
I wasn't brave enough to pursue a career as a painter and, instead, I
took an MSc degree in Architecture at the University of Porto, in
Portugal, where I graduated in 2008. I had been working as an Architect
for almost 10 years when I decided to have a change of career and, so, I
have been working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2022. This
move made me realise that I had taken a really good decision as, one
day in the future, I would like to become an Art Therapist and that way
dedicate myself to the two things I most like doing, art and helping
others.
Currently, I mostly paint, draw and sketch as a hobby and my style is a mix of surrealism, cubism, and contemporary art. I'm
am always happy to take on new challenges as I love trying out new
ideas, media and themes with the results never failing to surprise me. This is the last work I have completed. Enjoy!
