This young woman around 20 years old really touched me, she was one of many innocent people arrested in Albania during Fascism. I saw her image, she didn’t look 20 at all, there was something in her eyes that were whispering her agony but at the same time, I could see through that, the amazing, caring and scared human being. An unusual case, that could easily shock any human being, she withstood weeks of gruesome torture while maintaining her innocence. After weeks, a friend was finally granted permission to visit her and was appalled by her appearance; she was filthy, covered in several kinds of bugs, and near mad. At that point, the regime was finally ready to release her. However, since they felt her condition was far too bad to reveal to the public eye, they moved her into a hospital for a few weeks so she could regain some physical and mental health before discharge. But after everything she had been through, it was not going to happen. Her physical health improved steadily until one day she threw herself out the upper-story window to her death.

A REFLETION FOR YOU;

I cannot imagine all her suffering and how a human being can be put in this position. Probably it’s just me, completely naïve and I wouldn’t hurt anyone just because “it’s my job and I was under orders”. I’ve decided to paint her the way I was feeling it, the dark side, with neon colour that you can only identify her agony in the dark. On the other side, the caring and lovely child full of dreams that were completely torn apart.
